Ecopower LED, a division of Ecopower Inc, global leader in HID Lighting Controls Design and Manufacture is launching, in concert with OEM ProTerra LED, the world’s first 90watt HiBay and 45watt LowBay LED (Light Emitting Diode) Lighting Fixture designed and developed in Canada. This new technology, along with the Office Retrofit Kit (ORK LED), is being debuted at the Energy 2009: Lead and Green show, Toronto Congress Centre, co-hosted by NRCAN, CIPEC , CME-MEC and the Government of Canada.
Ready for market release in Q1, 2010 ecopower is raising pre-release awareness by showcasing emerging ProTerra LED technologies. Agents are being brought on to take these products to market and initial indications are that the product will launch with over 200 agents N.A. wide.
Providing the same amount of light as a 400watt Metal Halide fixture, the 90 watt HiBay uses less than ¾ of its predecessor’s energy. Numerous benefits include:
• Elimination of mercury from the light source (4mg of mercury, the contents of one 400w HID, pollutes more than 6,000 gallons of fresh water)
• Elimination of UV and XRAY light spectrums, providing a proven Seasonal Effective Disorder therapy in a commercial application

• RoHS and LEEDS compliant. Restriction of Hazardous Substances, 2003 EU, required to be enforced and become law. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a green building rating system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council provides standards for environmentally sustainable construction.
• One ProTerra 90watt HiBay, replacing a 400watt Metal Halide, will reduce the amount of CO2 emissions by 900lbs annually
